Hi! I’m Beck. I’m an elementary assistant teacher with several years of experience working with children in educational, residential, behavioral, recreational, and mentorship settings. I genuinely enjoy working with kids and creating an environment where they can have fun, be themselves, and still have the structure and boundaries they need to stay safe. I’ve worked with children across a variety of ages and needs, including as a residential counselor, behavioral support professional, martial arts/self-defense instructor, and youth mentor. I’m comfortable with everything from homework help and bedtime routines to outdoor adventures, games, sports, crafts, and finding creative ways to keep kids entertained without relying on a screen all day. Safety is a major part of my background. I’m certified in CPR/First Aid and Wilderness First Aid and have additional training in Search & Rescue, crisis intervention and de-escalation, emergency management, mass-casualty response, and active-shooter/emergency response. I’m comfortable staying calm, assessing Read more a situation, and taking appropriate action when something unexpected happens. Outside of childcare, I operate a wildlife rescue and have a strong background in conservation and outdoor education. I love getting kids interested in nature, animals, science, and the outdoors. I also have experience with music and several sports, particularly golf, and I’m always happy to incorporate a child’s interests into what we do. I believe kids deserve caregivers who actually engage with them. My goal isn’t simply to keep an eye on your child until you get home—it’s to make sure they’re safe, respected, comfortable, and hopefully excited for me to come back next time.
