I started babysitting during my teenage years. I had many families that hired me to watch their children. I really enjoyed being with the kids and one family hired me to nanny for them during the summer. I was in charge of all the day to day activities of two children from 8 to 5. I found this to be tiring, yet rewarding and my love of being with children grew. This family belonged to a country club in my city where I was able to make more connections with families and this job led to a unique opportunity for me. I was chosen to be the water show director's assistant and I was in charge of two acts, the youngest two groups (the first was 3 and under and the second was 4 and 5 year olds). I coreographed their routine, taught it to them and helped them the Read more night of the show! It was really fun and unique! I learned how to work with this age group and really liked it. When I was in college I worked at a preschool in different aged classrooms. Each classroom was a different experience and required me to adapt to every age and their needs. While I was deciding what to do with my life, I tried event planning, but realized I really missed working with kids, so I got a job as a paraprofessional at the middle school I attended. I have gained valuable experience working this job. Some days I am placed with students one on one and other days I am an aide in the emotionally impaired classroom. As you can see, I have experience working with all ages of kids, and I am eager to continue making connections with people!
