Hi! My name is Mercedes, and I’m someone who genuinely loves working with children and being a kind, caring addition to their lives. I have lots of experience working with infants and children, and childcare comes very naturally to me. I’m extremely patient, attentive, and dependable, and I take pride in creating a supportive, fun, and nurturing environment for kids of all ages. Safety is also always my first priority, and I am First Aid and CPR certified. In addition to general childcare, I have hands-on experience working with children on the autism spectrum as well as children with other intellectual and developmental disabilities as a Registered Behavior Technician. I approach each child with empathy, patience, and respect, and I understand the importance of clear communication, routines, and individualized care. I strive to create a calming, supportive, and positive environment where each child feels safe, valued, and understood. I have Read more completed two years of college coursework in elementary education and two years in psychology, where I earned straight A’s and excellence awards. This gave me the opportunity to develop a solid understanding of child development, behavior, learning strategies, and effective communication with children. Although I have not continued with the completion of my degrees yet due to life changes, my education so far has been extremely valuable and directly supports the way that I interact with and care for children. I have reliable transportation, and I am happy to help with additional needs such as driving children to activities, running errands, light cleaning, and house sitting. I also love pets/animals, and I am happy to assist with pet sitting and other pet-related needs. I’m very responsible, organized, empathetic, and always willing to go above and beyond to support families.
