We're looking for a hands-on care provider for our 19-year-old special needs son with epilepsy. Dion is non-verbal and in a wheelchair, and communicates through eye contact, smiles, and hugs. He's a very happy guy unless something is wrong. Responsibilities include feeding, hygiene, diaper changes, dressing, companionship and social interaction. Important - Must be able to transfer him between bed and wheelchair (with or without Hoyer lift). He prefers someone with an energetic personality. Additional responsibilities include meal preparation, bathing, managing and administering medications, and some light housekeeping. We might ask you to run errands now and then. On some days, you'll be responsible for transporting him to/from appointments. Preferences are for a caregiver who is a non-smoker and CPR / first-aid trained.
