We are looking for help for my younger sister, who is 23 and starting part-time at LA Trade Tech in the cosmetology program. She does not need help with ADLs, but does need help with staying aware of her surroundings when in public and has some intellectual delays.

Client is trans and queer, and we are looking for a PA who is supportive. My sister is a big fan of all things Barbie, Chucky and Tiffany (from the movie), Disney, musicals, hair, and DC Comics (namely, Harley Quinn). She is very social, and her delays are evident in budgeting, navigation, and dealing with sudden changes in the environment, schedule, etc.

Per Regional Center rules, the PA cannot drive my sister but can join on paratransit and public transportation, so being comfortable with navigation on LA Metro is helpful, as well as prompting the client to take the lead on navigation. Duties will include: prompting for medication/chores, grocery planning/budgeting, help with keeping a schedule, etc.

She is a regional center client, and this job would be paid through that at $20/hr. Whoever is hired will work with a regional center vendor to submit a W4, do any required background checks, set up direct deposit/payment, etc. We are still working on figuring out what exact schedule would benefit my sister the best, but please let us know your availability. We are approved for 60 hours a month, so about 15 hours a week.
