We are looking for help for my younger sister, who is 23 and starting part-time at LA Trade Tech in the cosmetology program. She does not need help with ADLs, but has some intellectual delays. She is trans and queer, and we are looking for a PA who is supportive. My sister is a big fan of all things Barbie, Chucky and Tiffany, Disney, musicals, and DC Comics (namely, Harley Quinn). She is very social, and her delays are evident in budgeting, navigation, and dealing with sudden changes in the environment and schedule

Being comfortable with navigation on LA Metro is helpful, as well as prompting the client to take the lead on navigation. Duties will include: prompting for medication/chores, grocery planning/budgeting, help with keeping a schedule, etc. She is a regional center client, and this job would be paid through that at $20/hr. Whoever is hired will work with a regional center vendor to submit a W4, do any required background checks, set up direct deposit/payment, etc. We are approved for 60 hours a month, so about 15 hours a week.

Now through 10/26: 5 hours 3x/week; flexible on timing and exact days but not Friday or Saturday.
October 26th through December 17th: ~2.5-3 hrs (Mon-Thu) accompanying my sister on the metro to school. The plan would be to either meet at Highland Park Metro or give a ride from our home to Highland Park Metro (about 10-15 minutes) (pending approval from the regional center). Then take the train (straight shot, no transfers) to Grand/LATTC - roughly a 30- 40 minute ride, and she doesn't need to be walked in. The timing would be roughly 5:30-8 am because her class starts at 7:30 am.

Additionally, we would hope for one weekend day at home/in the neighborhood (exact hours dependent but hopefully 3-5) to support meal prepping for the week ahead, creating a grocery plan (supporting grocery shopping + budgeting, cooking, chores).
