The primary focus of your role will be supporting a teenage girl who requires 1:1 support in daily life. She has Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, a rare genetic developmental disorder that impacts her motor, social, and speech abilities. She communicates using gestures and a speech-generating device.

You’ll play a key role in her daily routine, including:
Supporting activities of daily living and home routines
Engaging her in communication, motor, and sensory activities
Accompanying her to occupational therapy, physical therapy, hippotherapy, and Special Olympics swimming
Collaborating with therapists and learning new strategies and techniques
Creating a nurturing, structured, and patient environment
