In-home Childcare for Special Needs 3.5-year-old

- $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
We are seeking in-home childcare for our 3.5-year-old daughter, Melanie, who has a rare genetic disorder with broad delays and disabilities. She attends pre-school in the mornings until 11:45 and the care would take place in the afternoons at our home 3-5 days per week, from approximately 12:00 - 5:00pm. Melanie has hypotonia, understands english but is non-verbal and uses some sign-language for communication, she walks using a walker and ankle-foot orthotics but otherwise crawls, and has difficulty eating which requires close attention.
Minimum job duties include:
feeding her lunch and a snack
putting her down for nap
changing diapers
engaging in play
reading to her
Requirements:
Familiarity with some ASL (baby/infant signs)
CPR & First Aid, including choking intervention
Ability to lift and carry 30 lb. child
Pluses:
Strong knowledge of ASL
Familiarity with physical therapy and occupation therapy for fine motor and gross skills
