After-School Behavioral Aide – Monroe, CT (Part-Time)

- $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Hours:
• Monday–Friday 2:00 PM–6:00 PM (some flexibility)
• Occasional full-day coverage during school breaks or early dismissals
About the Role:
We’re seeking a patient, experienced, and trauma-informed behavioral aide to support a bright, energetic 5-year-old after school. This role blends structured after-school care with behavioral and emotional regulation support in a home setting.
Responsibilities:
• Meet child at school pick-up and transition smoothly to home routine
• Provide emotional regulation coaching and support with coping strategies
• Implement consistent, pre-agreed behavioral plans
• Facilitate snack, play, and homework time in a structured but warm environment
• Communicate observations and progress daily with parents
• Support child’s participation in after-school activities or therapies as needed
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Experience with neurodivergent children and/or behavioral support (e.g., ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing differences)
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports
• Strong boundaries and a calm, steady demeanor during challenging moments
• Training in de-escalation techniques (CPI, PCM, or similar) — preferred but not required
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Pay Rate:
• $25–$40/hour, depending on qualifications and experience
Requirements:
• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license
• Able to pass CT DCF and background checks
