Seeking reliable, upbeat personal care assistants / companion caregivers for two kind brothers in their mid-60s living at home in Mystic, CT. Both have cognitive disorders and benefit from calm, warm, steady support.
Pay is $23-$25/hour, based on fit and experience. Weekly direct pay. Part-time hours available, especially weekday afternoons, Thursday mornings, Saturdays, and Sundays. We can discuss a schedule that works for the right person.
Responsibilities may include companionship, prompting and supervision, meal preparation, help with ADLs/incontinence, help with routines, gym/service-provider outings, household support related to care, and helping keep the day structured and positive. This is not a cold institutional setting. It is a respectful, family-run home with a strong care team and a very good dog.
Ideal candidates are dependable, patient, upbeat, practical, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in an active household. Prior caregiving, CNA, HHA, elder care, dementia care, disability care, nursing student, EMT, therapy aide, or family-care experience is helpful, but reliability and judgment matter most.
