Older adult (62 yrs) with autism, lives with me and my husband (I'm her sister). Would like to schedule someone to either take Dawn out shopping, walking or for coffee etc. for a few hours a month or come to our home so we can have an occasional night out.
She is super friendly, loveably awkward. She's able to take care of personal needs, makes her own lunch/breakfast, knows to take her daily meds on her own, but otherwise mostly functions at level of kindergarten or slightly less, depending on the issue.
We have 2 dogs, so you must be comfortable w/pets, no pet allergies--- they are annoying and loud, but friendly.
Must also be willing to listen to endless stories about cats, horses and cars and tv shows that went off air 40 years ago.
First Aid preferred, CPR a plus.
Female caregivers only, please, as that is who she's most comfortable with.
