Babysitting for Special Needs 16 yo Daughter
Posted by Saima S. on 2/10/2026
- $25.00 per hour
We are looking for a kind and attentive babysitter to care for our 16-year-old daughter, Miral, on weekends during the day (up to 8 hours). Miral has a genetic condition that results in her special needs, with some similarities to autism, though she is not autistic. She is non-verbal but mobile, able to walk and get around independently and has significant cognitive deficits.
The care required is mostly supervisory, allowing the caregiver time to attend to quiet activities while Miral watches TV or listens to music. Assistance is needed with toileting support (she wears pull-ups but can use the toilet with help) and feeding. Miral can communicate her needs by pointing or bringing things, and she is affectionate and playful.
While Miral does have a history of self-injurious behavior, this is largely managed with medication, and so significant intervention is not always needed.
