We are seeking a dependable, compassionate individual to assist our 10-year-old son with special needs before school and occasionally on weekends.
Our son loves to listen to music and dancing, enjoys having books read to him, watching the Price is Right or Let's Make A Deal, enjoys swinging, jumping on his trampoline or riding his tricycle. He has a WEGO that he uses to communicate with but also knows some sign language and can say some words. He plays on the Miracle Baseball League during the summer and fall. On weekends, you can find him checking cars out at the local shows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Morning routine support, including:
• Working on SCL (Supported Community Living) goals
• Toileting assistance
• Meal preparation and assistance with feeding (G-tube experience preferred or willingness to learn)
• Medication administration
• Dressing and hygiene (brushing teeth, grooming)
• Providing a calm, structured, and supportive environment
• Occasional weekend respite care
Qualifications:
• Experience working with children with special needs (brain injury, autism, developmental delays, etc.)
• Comfortable with or willing to learn G-tube feeding and medication administration
• Reliable, patient, and nurturing
• Strong communication skills
• Background in or currently studying social work, education, therapy, or a related field preferred
• Must be 18+ and able to pass a background check
