We're looking for a caregiver for me, Brooke, who is mom to our son who is 7. I have some mobility and cognitive impairments - I can walk short distances with a walker, but I use a wheelchair full time. Our son is 7 and has severe global delay (non verbal, incontinent), but almost always happy. We need help mostly with transportation - I am unable to drive due to disability, so I need help to attend appointments for me and my son. Not only do we need to arrive, but I need assistance in remembering what is said. Hopefully my son will be able to attend the local school, but that is unknown until we have a local address. We may also need help with laundry, grocery shopping, and basic meal prep. We have had one caregiver for the two of us for the last 5 years, and it has worked out well.
