Respite Care for 22 y/o son with autism, intellectual disability and epilepsy

- $10.00 - $20.00 per hour

Eric is high functioning young adult on autism spectrum. He works and can take care of his daily needs but due to epilepsy, we cannot leave him alone for long periods of time. I travel for work, my husband works out of the home M-F during the day and my older son, Evan, also works out of the home on various shifts. When I travel, we need assistance with care for Eric. This involves being with him at home or in the community for safety (mostly seizure safety) when one of his 3 main care givers (myself, his Dad, his brother) are not available. This person needs to be reliable and able to be trained on seizure first aid, delivery of seizure rescue med (if indicated) and a good match with Eric, who is a young man that values his independence so requires more of a companion that also provides supervision MORE than a person who "cares" for him.
