Caregiver/Respite Opportunity – Helping a Brave, Bright Teen Thrive
Hello, my name is Aimee Medina (Turner), and I’m seeking a compassionate, reliable, and fun caregiver for my 14-year-old daughter, Ayslea.
On the outside, you’d never know she’s medically complex—her smile is that radiant. But behind her laughter and sweetness, she faces real challenges: she sometimes faints, falls, or spends long stretches in bed due to pain. Though ambulatory, she needs someone who can offer both practical support and uplifting companionship.
Up until 10 months ago, Ayslea was a vibrant athlete—playing volleyball, riding horses, and swimming. A sudden illness changed everything and led to the discovery of an incurable disease. Despite this, she remains witty, kind, intelligent, and full of potential.
What she needs most is a passionate, trustworthy, and encouraging caregiver—someone who can help with:
Driving to appointments and activities
Respite care during my doctoral residencies in Minnesota (4x/year)
Part-time caregiving and companionship
Because Ayslea is understandably anxious about others caring for her, the right person will be patient, fun, and creative—someone who can help her hold onto joy, laughter, and hope in the midst of illness.
If you have experience supporting teens and a background in medical or caregiving work—and if your heart lights up at the idea of making a difference in a young girl’s life—I’d love to connect with you.
