Seeking occasional caregiving at Fort Belvoir for my 19-year-old adult child, who has severe autism (Level 3) and is non-verbal. He is very affectionate, but also prone to self-injurious and aggressive behavior, which is managed with medication and behavior therapy. Looking for recurring care whenever I must attend military functions and socials. Duties include transportation (taking him to the store, etc.). Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker; CPR / first-aid trained; and experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Experience with ABA therapy and sign language is helpful, but not required. Some help may be needed with bathing. Applicants must be able to access Fort Belvoir and be receptive to a more thorough background check as well as 1-2 references. Thank you!
