We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Nursing Aide or Caregiver to provide evening support for a 64-year-old individual diagnosed with ALS who is now wheelchair-bound and requires hands-on assistance. This position is based in a private residence and offers a consistent schedule of seven nights per week from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with compensation at $40 per hour. The caregiver will assist with evening and bedtime routines, including personal care, hygiene, and ensuring the individual is safely and comfortably settled for the night. Responsibilities also include mobility support and safe transfers, G-tube care such as monitoring (training can be provided if needed), and remaining present with the individual while they sleep to monitor safety and provide reassurance if needed. The role involves observing for any changes in condition, maintaining a calm and supportive environment, and offering companionship and emotional support. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in caregiving, such as CNA or HHA roles, with preference given to those familiar with ALS or other high-care needs, and should demonstrate strong communication skills, dependability, and a patient, compassionate approach. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact in someone’s quality of life within a supportive home setting.
