High functioning 9yo boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder/ADHD after school pickup and special activities

Posted by James F. on 4/25/2026

  • $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Our 9yo boy is currently in 3rd grade, is a sensitive, shy, but spirited kid who is highly functioning despite his ASD and ADHD. He struggles with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) so loves autonomy, challenges (both physical and mental), being outside and opportunities to play, run, tumble, jump, and explore. Super picky eater, but his menu is fairly easy, mostly packged snacks, apples, carrots, nuts, apple juice, body armor fruit punch, and milk. He is fully verbal, can follow directions, and occasionally can want to have control over options (especially for play).

He gets overwhelmed with beforecare 8am, school 9-3:35 aftercare until 5-5:50, with two working parents (divorced, living in separate houses) and we hope to get him out on hikes, rides, playgrounds and other activities where he can have more freedom and body regulation before dinner time.

We're looking for someone he can really connect with, understands declarative language, encouragement, positivity and can teach him and show him new things.
