I am writing this on behalf of my mother, who would is far too modest to sing her own praises. After recently retiring from 20+ years working as a nursing home cook, Lillian is returning to what she does best- care for and love children. She is the mother of 3 adult daughters, who she stayed at home to raise. When her daughters were a little older, she became a full-time nanny to Sarah from age 6 weeks to age 10. Sarah's family moved out of state, which is when Lillian began her job at the nursing home. She thinks of Sarah as one of her own children, and Sarah visits her every year. Lillian has been dedicated to serving in the children's ministries of her church, since the 1970s. She teaches Sunday school and children's church to this day. Her involvement in the church bus ministry has given her Read more experience with children from all types of backgrounds & home environments. She truly knows how to love the most difficult children, and make them feel love and acceptance. Working in classroom settings with children also means she knows lots of games, songs & activties to entertain kids. Lillian is what I would term a universal mother figure. To meet her, you instantly feel her warmth. Speaking as her daughter, I have adult friends who quickly adopt her as a mother figure. They seek her wisdom, adore her sweet nature and relish her approval. Lillian just turned 70 and retired from her job. Please don't let her age give you worry. She is sharp as a tack and is able to still perform her physically demanding kitchen job, as well as chase her pastor's 3 sons in a game of Nerf tag.
