I am a reliable, kind, caring, and honest individual. These character qualities, combined with my outgoing and friendly personality would fit well with your nanny job offer. As a nanny, I would strive to promote your children's physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In the past, I have had a variety of experiences working with children. The first was when I was twelve, I wanted to become a babysitter so I took a safe sitters course. I quickly learned that I have a strong passion for children and families and am willing to promote the parents' values. I also have worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor during which I was able to teach both general swim lessons and lessons for disabled or fearful children. When in college, I became a tutor. This gave me the opportunity to work with both college students and community members. During the 2015 summer, I Read more worked with a little boy, coming up with activities to help him learn his alphabet, how to read, and how to spell. As your nanny, meeting with you on a weekly basis about plans for the following week as well as any behavioral or emotional issues the children are facing is something I am willing to make a regular part of my job. Communicating with children of different developmental stages comes easily to me because I have had experience with a wide range of children while teaching swim lessons and tutoring. I encourage good behavior by giving positive reinforcement; discipline will be enforced per parent's request. If disagreements between children occur, I am able to intervene and encourage open and positive communication. Activities such as educational games or trips that spark imagination and creativity to help your children discover new things would be a part of each day. In the past, I have made educational craft materials to engage children in wanting to learn. If desired, tutoring is a task I can provide. Reading to children and helping them learn to read is one aspect of child care that I love. Also, including children in baking and simple cooking activities is something I have enjoyed. I am able and willing to perform tasks including but not limited to cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, buying groceries, running errands, and making children's daily schedules. I am willing to help with toilet training, changing diapers, bathing, dressing, and putting children to bed. When the children are sick or injured I am able to provide loving care, administer medication, and perform minor first aid.
