I have been a babysitter/nanny for the last 40 years! I can't believe I've been doing this for so long! I just love people, especially children because of their beautiful innocence! Since I was l4 years old, I had to go to work & help my parents. I got a babysitting job with my Aunt & Uncle with their family of 4 children & just loved it. I cooked for them, bathed them, did homework with them, read & sang to them & did their prayers & tucked them in. As I got older, I received jobs by word of mouth. After I was married in 1981, I was still caring for children. I took children into my home for a period of time & then wanted to care for children in their own home so as they could be put to bed in a timely manner & didn't have Read more to go out into the cold at night. As of today, I take care of 2 different families. One family I have been with for the last 5 years. I have been with them since birth of their oldest, a darling little girl & cute as a button little boy, ages 5 & 2. My day consists of making breakfast, laundry, brushing teeth & getting them dressed, tidying up rooms, take them for a walk (weather permitting), make lunches, cleanup & get them down for naps, unload & load dishwasher, fold laundry & put clothes away & general pickup of house. When children get up from their naps, change diaper & give them a snack & we go outside (weather permitting) or we color, paint, read, play family games or sometimes watch a video or short story on TV such as Paw Patrol or Sofia! I will prep dinner if asked to & usually leave around 5:30PM. My other family consists of one beautiful little girl who is just 2 years old. She is at the "no" stage & sometimes to get her to do anything can be challenging, but nothing I haven't dealt with before! We usually go for a walk, then color or paint or read some stories. I make most of her meals. Both families have asked me for their help in getting rid of their childrens' binkies and/or pacifiers! I use natural & "old fashion" remedies to get rid of rashes, etc. I love working for these 2 families & watching them grow up through all their different phases of life! I've gone to weddings (4) of some of the children that I have taken care of through the years! I have been trained in CPR over the years. My whole life, I have always taken care of others, whether young or old. I truly enjoy what I do.
