I started babysitting when I was 13. One of the first children I cared for was a baby, who is now a local attorney. A local judge used to send his son and often the dog, too, to stay with me when he and his wife were out of town. I had my first child at 26 and another when I was 28. Today they are grown educated and successful. The oldest has two undergrads from Wheeling Jesuit and a Masters from Johns Hopkins. My youngest works in IT, retired Veteran and has a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. I led two Girl Scout Troops for many years and directed summer camp for about 120 campers for several years. I divorced when our children were in middle school but remained on excellent terms with their father. While single, I became a foster parent and adopted two other children into our Read more family. One came from a very traumatic situation and needed a lot of medical and emotional care. She also has turned into a successful lovely young woman and my second son is doing well, too. I like kids. I very much like older children and teenagers. I like to cook and I am very domestic minded. I grew up with grandmothers who taught me how to cook, can, sew, embroidery, crochet, etc. My hobbies are reading, cooking, photography. I have spent years in sales and looking to slow down a little. I am a cancer survivor of 10 years and in excellent health. I take no medicine. I don't smoke or take OTC meds. I drink alcohol on rare occasion. I have a spotless driving record and very good at teaching others to drive! I am very well known and respected in the community. I have worked on several local projects and chaired some events and projects. I plan well and well organized. I love animals (not fond of reptiles but can deal with them if a must!). I have a dog and 4 cats of my own. I have had multiple pets for 40 years and have never had any reproduce. I am a responsible adult and a responsible pet owner, too. I have some pretty decent handyman skills. Not afraid to unstop a drain, unclog the vacuum cleaner, install a light fixture, replace the trap to the sink, paint, clean an other small home repairs.
