Hi my name is Melanie I’ve been around little kids my whole life. I am the first child in my family which came with many responsibilities like caring and looking out for my baby cousins (girls/ boys), sisters and our family pets( cats/dogs/ hamsters)! Making sure there was always fun and safe activities ahead of us as well as a good snacks/meals. Now that a lot of my cousins and sisters are older I am very thankful to say that I was a big part of their childhood and was able to teach them so much. I have been a volunteer at my local church for 5 years over the weekends where I am a T.A and work with kids ages 5-11. I have also been an explorer with the Ventura County Sheriffs Department for 6 years now and we work with teenagers ages 13-21. We educate them in law enforcement as well as teaching them responsibility, team work, CPR/ first aid and most importantly how to have fun and make long lasting friends! I was a gymnast for 5 years and a volunteered coach for 2 years where I worked with toddlers over the weekends! I moved out to LA after graduation where I was a professional nanny for 11 years. I first started working with celebrity families and then had the opportunity to train with special needs children and their families in the behavioral health department at Cedars Sinai Hospital in LA. My husband and I left the city when we started our own family 12 years ago. I have many years experience with families and children with special needs. I am a trained ABA therapist. I have worked with multiples. I am trained to use nebulizers, epipens, trained in seizure first aid, (currently up to date on all CPR certifications and Covid protocols.) I have French family and speak french. My husband is from Argentina so I speak some Spanish, and there is certainly bit of a language jumble going on at family get togethers😊. I am used to travelling with families and finding ways to occupy and enrich the childrens' hours without using screens, while in a limited environment e.g. hotel room. My undergraduate degree was in Theater and I love to bring that creativity and humor to my work. I have spent many overnights with infants and children.
