Hi my name is Teresa and I’m a retired pharmacist of 25 years, but more importantly I’m a grandma of a 2 year old and 1 month old. My daughter lives in Chicago so I’m only able to visit about once every 3 months. I had the privilege of helping her with her first baby and quickly became refreshed on changing diapers, feeding, nap time, bedtime, bath time, tummy time and just plain grandma time. It’s brought back so many great memories of growing up and babysitting and my love for caring for children. When I was 12, I babysat 5 children all under the age of 7. I fed them breakfast, lunch, and took them swimming. I think I made a dollar an hour, but I absolutely loved it!!!! I continued to babysit until I got to college and I just didn’t have the time for it anymore. I always wanted a job where I worked with children. Actually my first job as a pharmacist was at City of Hope hospital, an oncology hospital, where I worked in the children’s ward. I felt like I really made a difference just by talking to the children and offering a hand to hold during chemo. I’ve been retired now a few years and believe it’s never too late to start a new career. I believe with my experience as a mother of 2 and grandmother of 2, I have a lot to offer. I am a very compassionate and patient person, not to mention very active. When I’m in Chicago with my grandson I go down the slides with him and climb the jungle gym with him. I love it!!
