Thank you for viewing my profile.. I am Lindsay, a college graduate, divorced, mother of four. Caring for children has always come natural to me. Innate love, compassion and patience in caregiving has taught me to teach & guide children in a gentle way. I was an attachment parent (baby wearing, bonded, close contact) with all four of my own children. I allow the child take the lead for creativity and exploration of their environment, with appropriate boundaries for safety and rules of the home. Respect, communication and understanding are very important to me in caregiver- parent dynamic, as well as with the children. I am available as an interim caregiver from 6/15/25 through 7/5/25. I am available full time including weekends . After 7/5/25, I am available Monday, Friday and weekends, hours as needed. I want your children to be as comfortable as possible with me while you are gone. I prefer to meet in person once before beginning babysitting. To add, I have my bachelor's of science in elementary education from Northern Illinois University. I was certified in CPR for infants and children through Palos Community Hospital on April 21, 2005. Because I have worked in day care facilities, I have my fingerprints on file for background checks in the state of Illinois (Crestwood location). I also have a background check on file. In my experience, I have worked in three day care facilities, mainly infant and toddler rooms, from 1998 until 2003 and again short term in 2017. I also did some short-term nannying for three families during my college years. After college, I taught a 4-year-old preschool class at Kindercare Learning Center, from 2003 to 2005. When my son was born, in May of 2005, I started to nanny full time. Since then, I have worked as a nanny, as a home daycare provider and babysitting, for 19 different families to present day.

I have been babysitting for 20+ years along with nannying jobs throughout that time. I have always enjoyed playing with and caring for children. I am a mother to my almost 3 year old son, who loves playing with other kids while also having a good understanding of taking turns and using gentle play. I've been a cheerleading and dance coach as well as tumbling instructor for 15 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in dance, and I earned my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with children and adolescents. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Illinois for 5 years in practice. I work part time as a telehealth therapist in the evenings and on Thursdays and Fridays. I have Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays reserved for at-home one on one time with my son, but we are looking for more kids and laughter to fill our home on those days. I like to keep the little ones in my care active and engaged while at the same time respectfully reinforcing guidelines and specific instructions that are set by each family. Some additional information on how I care for babies, toddlers, and children: I am great with finding creative activities to do indoors on rainy days but LOVE outdoor activities for when it is nice outside! We live walking distance from a park and have a secure wagon with seatbelts. I am truly fascinated in the development of children both cognitively and emotionally. I enjoy interacting with them as they learn and experience new things! I can also prepare nutritious meals and snacks in our smoke-free, pet-free home.

I am a dependable individual who is responsible, caring and focused. I have a high level of compassion and patience with children of all ages and 25 years of experience of in home daycare.

I recently graduated with my bachelors degree in psychology at governors state university, and I am furthering my education to receive a masters degree in social work starting this fall. I have worked in a childcare program for the past 6 years with large groups of children. I love being around kids and doing activities with them. I have experience with children from 6 weeks-12 years.

I am a wife to my husband of 40 years, a mother of three grown children, a teacher for over 30 years which included a reading and math interventionist for 2 years. My husband and I moved out to Mokena, Illinois in June of 2020. I'm looking for part time work at my home. I am currently helping my daughter with our first grandson which is why I am not teaching. I am flexible in my hours except on Tuesday which I will not be availiable. I have the experience any mom would look for when having someone care for their young child/children.
