Innate love, compassion and patience in caregiving has taught me to teach & guide children in a gentle way. I was an attachment parent (baby wearing, bonded, close contact) with all four of my own children. I allow the child take the lead for creativity and exploration of their environment, with appropriate boundaries for safety and rules of the home. Respect, communication and understanding are very important to me in caregiver- parent dynamic, as well as with the children. I am available Monday, Friday and weekends, hours as needed. I want your children to be as comfortable as possible with me while you are gone. I prefer to meet in person once before beginning babysitting. Because I have worked in day care facilities, I have my fingerprints on file for background checks in the state of Illinois. I also have a background check on file. In my experience, I have worked in three day care facilities, mainly infant and toddler rooms, from 1998 until 2003 and again short term in 2017 and 2023. I also did some short-term nannying for three families during my college years. After college, I taught a 4-year-old preschool class at Kindercare Learning Center, from 2003 to 2005. When my son was born, in May of 2005, I started to nanny full time. Since then, I have worked as a nanny, as a home daycare provider and babysitting, for 21 different families to present day.

I’m a retired mother age 55 that has raised 3 beautiful, successful children. I just ended a 3 yr. Nanny position for 2 children ages 5 & 11. I started when the little guy was 2 yrs old. I changed diapers, made bottles, successfully potty trained in him in one week. During the school year I came early, helped get them up, made breakfast & drove them to school. Pick up after school & care for them til 5pm. During the Summers, I babysit 5 days a week, 9 hours a day. I drove the children to and from all extracurricular activities including sports. I am a hands on Nanny. We played games, went swimming, went to the movies, the zoo, parks, water parks. You name it I do it! I have grown to love that family very much!!. But as the children are in school full time I am ready for my next journey with your family. I have my own clean, safe car & I am good with pets. I am available on Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:30 am to 5pm.

Always loved children since I was a child. Starting teaching preschool at my church at age 18. I have done so many types of volunteer work (with my children being involved as well), but the most rewarding has always been with helping children. They are our future and I believe parenting is not only the most important job we can have, but also the best and definitely the most rewarding. I studied Elementary Education in college years ago, but have always had the natural instinct to teach, especially while playing.
