I have many years of experience with children in a wide range of settings, including many years of babysitting for families in their homes, working as a summer camp counselor, as an assistant teacher in a daycare, and volunteering in two elementary schools. I raised my own son and I occasionally watch my 4 and 6 year old grandsons. In the past year and a half I have watched a 2.5 year old boy, an infant girl from age 3 to 6 months, a baby boy from 7 to 10 months, and an 8 year old girl. I completed a pediatric first aid and CPR class in November 2023. When I am watching children I do not use my cell phone (other than in case of emergency or if I need to schedule an appointment) as I want to give the kids my undivided attention. I especially enjoy reading to children, doing art projects together, and taking nature walks. I am very energetic, and on days when I am not babysitting, I typically take 4 - 5 mile walks along the lake. I am very happy to provide professional and personal references. Among the parents from whom I can provide references are a neonatologist, a professor of psychology, a nurse, and an elementary schoolteacher. As a caregiver, I am highly reliable, kind, warm, and fun. I love both kids and dogs. My schedule is typically very flexible, and I can often make myself available for last-minute requests. Thank you. Rosanne

I am originally from Peru, and traveled to the States to continue my education. I have plenty of experience working with infants and toddlers. I am a Spanish native speaker, but also can communicate in English pretty well. In addition to all my cares, I have taught all my charges how to speak the language, showing them the beauty of Spanish through songs, games, and books. I love being active, enjoying everything this city has to offer, so I like going to the park, playground, museums, pool, beach, library, everywhere we can learn and have fun at the same time! My qualifications include but not limited to: - Supervise and get involve in children's activities indoors and outdoors, and attend with them to infant or toddler classes, story-hour at the local library, going to the park, playground, etc. - Cook age appropriate and healthy meals and snacks for the child, assist in feeding them while teaching table manners. - Provide a stimulating learning environment for the child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development and encourage social interaction organizing play dates - Help reinforce developmental transitions, such as sleep training, eating solid foods, potty training, etc. - Willing to follow a sleep and/or nap schedule and set a routine. - Able to perform light housework related to the child: laundry (clothes, bed liners, etc.), general tidying of child's room and play areas, cleaning up after child's meals. - Wash child's dishes and bottles and sterilize baby feeding supplies and toys. - Knowledge of the proper handling of breast milk (defrost, warm it up, and storage) and formula. - Comfortable giving medication (under parent's instructions) and doing cloth diapering. - Experience with babies with eczema problems and acid re-flux. I like to have a close relationship with the parents, so we can talk over your kids' needs and difficulties during their development and help them together, as a team. I am looking for a long-term position with an easygoing, professional, and well-organized family, who can treat me with respect and accept me as a member of it.

I have extensive experience with trauma-informed care for children. During my work at domestic violence shelters, I helped them process their changes in environment and other major life adjustments. Hi! I graduated from Drake University with a BS in psychology and I also have an associates degree in criminal justice. I currently live in Vernon Hills with my 3 year old daughter and our two dogs. I LOVE to cook healthy and colorful meals. I am CPR and CPI certified, and have experience with autism and special needs. I work for TrueNorth full time during the school year as an RBT, and also work part time as a program assistant for NSSRA and an autism services clinic as an RBT. Hello and thank you for taking the time to get to know me! My name is Zaina, and I’m an experienced, nurturing, and dedicated childcare provider with a true passion for supporting children’s growth and development. My journey in early childhood education began in high school, where I completed a certified Early Childhood Education program. This foundational experience sparked my love for working with children and led me to begin babysitting and nannying for families with children ranging from infants to 12 years old. Over the years, I’ve worked in a wide variety of childcare settings, including homes, preschools, and after-school programs. I spent three years as an educator and program manager at an elementary school, where I created and implemented engaging daily lesson plans and activities tailored to each child's needs. My approach blends structure with creativity to foster a safe, fun, and educational environment. I’m also experienced in household management and understand how to keep a home running smoothly while ensuring children are happy and well cared for. Currently, I’m pursuing a degree in nursing, which has further deepened my knowledge of child health and development. I’m certified in both infant and child CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support), and I bring a calm, attentive presence to every role I take on. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, staying active, and continuously learning new ways to better support the children in my care. I would love the opportunity to bring my experience, energy, and dedication to a family who values compassionate, reliable care.

I have been babysitting for many years and these rates are based on my experience and quality of work! However, I am open to discussing prices! I am easygoing and welcome communication of any sorts! I believe all parents should be able to have access to babysitting care. I look forward to working with you and your kiddos!
