I recently retired after more than 20 years of running my own in-home childcare business and have recently moved to the Romeo area. I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Development and am also a mom of three grown sons. Caring for children has been a huge part of my life, and although I was ready to retire from running a full-time childcare business, I realized I’m not quite ready to stop working with kids altogether! I’m now looking for a part-time position with a local family where I can put my experience to good use while helping make their day-to-day life a little easier. I’m dependable, patient, organized, and comfortable caring for children of all ages. I’m happy to help with things like meals, school routines, homework, transportation, errands, and child-related laundry and tidying. I’m also comfortable working in a home with pets. I’ve previously been CPR and First Aid certified and am happy to renew those certifications.

Hello! My name is Tyler and I'm in my mid-twenties. To be upfront and honest, I don't necessarily have *paid* child and pet care experience but I grew up with a decent sized family and plenty of pets. I am the oldest of 5 children, with the youngest child currently being 12 years old. My parents constantly worked when my siblings and I were younger so naturally, I was their free babysitter since the age of 9. This means I have cared for multiple children in all different stages of life at once for much of my life. And because of this, I feel I have developed a motherly and teacher-like nature since a young age. Even with my current job as a manager, a lot of my coworkers (who are younger than me) make comments about me being a "work parent." I am constantly teaching, directing, and giving advice to my "work children" not just because it's a part of my job but because I care for them and their growth as if they were my own. I hope that it can be seen that while I don't have professional/paid experience, my life experience can still be strong enough to speak for itself.

I understand that parents are busy so while you are out I’m here to make sure you’re number 1 priority is my number 1 priority, aka your child. My experiences with tutoring have taught me every child learns different and is different, so when I look after yours I promise to make sure they are individually getting the time and care they need. As someone who has over 15 certifications in the health field, safety is definitely my first priority. But while you’re away I will make sure your child is entertained and having a good time.   I have been married for 31 years and have 2 beautiful daughters. One is 25 years old and has finished college with a Banking and Finance degree. She is on her own and achieving her goals. My youngest daughter has just graduated high school and will be attending college in the fall. Going back a few years, I ran a successful licensed Day Care in my home for over  6 years until we moved. I then went to my clients homes to provide Child Care.I've  had a couple different families over the years. Presently, I am working for a family with two 1/2 year old twin boys. Mom is a school teacher and she will no longer need me once school starts. Prior to that , I watched a new born with a 5 year old brother for approximately 4 years.And going back a little further, I worked for a family of 5 children for almost 7 years. I began with this family when the oldest was only 3 months. The family kept growing year after year. They had 5 children total in 5 years , the last pregnancy was twins. So the ages of the kids were 4 years old, 3 years, 2 years and then the twins were born.  I also ran a success Day Care in my home for 6 years until we decided to move north to Romeo.
