I love being a sitter because I genuinely enjoy connecting with kids and creating a safe, fun environment where they feel comfortable. I’m very patient, responsible, and attentive, and I take pride in making sure parents feel confident leaving their children with me. I have experience caring for children of various ages, from infants to elementary-aged kids, including both short-term and recurring jobs. I’m comfortable with meals, bedtime routines, engaging activities, and caring for multiple children at once. I’m reliable, calm under pressure, and great at communicating with families. I always adapt to each child’s needs and routines and aim to make every day enjoyable and structured.

Greetings Honored Parents! Here is some relevant information about me, your Potential Perfect Sitter: I love spending time with children of all ages. I raised 3 successful kids (now adults), 2 of whom I home-schooled until middle school. We belonged to a homeschooling group, so I am adept at connecting and tutoring kids of all ages and backgrounds. From 2018-2020, I worked as an Educational Assistant in the 4J School District, grades K-12. My philosophy when it comes to parenting/childcare is this: when children know they are loved, they feel confident to pursue and achieve their ideas, goals, dreams. Children feel loved when these (short list) conditions are present: listening, playing, creating, exploring, validating, learning, synergy with friends/family/caregivers. I'm a great believer in giving children freedom to explore their interests and surroundings, while providing healthy boundaries and appropriate structure. Spending time outside in nature, doing arts/crafts; and playing games are mainstays of my childcare mojo. I'm not a huge fan of allowing kids to spend their precious time and talents in front of a screen, or on social media, unless it forwards educational or other specified goals. Regarding discipline - my belief is that if a child acts out or is disruptive, they are either not getting their needs met; or are testing boundaries. Children 0-3 typically cry or tantrum due to not getting their needs met - dirty diaper, hungry, tired, need to be held and rocked/bounced. The solutions to these issues are obvious and relatively easy. Children ages 3-13 may act out due to not getting their needs met. But may also act out to test boundaries. What to do when a child in your care is acting out to test boundaries? I have an excellent theory of case and method, and would love to share it with you. I look forward to hearing from you, Honored Parent!

I have two younger siblings who are now 8 and 12 years old. I grew up being a reliable babysitter for them for many years. During the pandemic, my siblings could not go to in-person school so I helped them stay on top of reading, writing, and math. I am CRP certified, and I have a certification in safe sleep for Oregon infants. I love to be outside, cooking, cleaning, drawing, and painting.

Hello and happy almost end of summer, I am a part time writing teacher at LCC. I live on Willamette which I think is close to where you are. The profile says less than one mile away. I have raised two children and they are very smart and successful. I am looking for a part time job that is a little flexible. I am free every day starting in three weeks. Basically, the whole month of September, I am off teaching. Fall term starts October 1st. I will be teaching 3 days each week. I am always off on Tuesday & Thursday. If you would like to meet and discuss the job, I would be happy to meet you any afternoon. My name is spelled funny, but it sounds like "holly." Hope to hear from you, H

Need a date night, a self care day or need to run some errands alone? Hi! I’m Gideon (they/them)! I'm looking to make some extra cash during the evenings/ weekends while making meaningful connections. I'm currently a DSP, and I am going back to school to get my degree in education. The previous eight years I spent working in Montessori schools. More about my experience: I have experience with ages 6 months-13 years. Currently my favorite age group is lower el. I've professionally been working with kids since 2018, but growing up I was the family/neighborhood babysitter! I'm trained in CPR and first aid (including babies), a Montessori assistant, positive discipline, de-escalation, suicide prevention, and much more especially with on the job learning. I've worked in childcare, a classroom, as a full time nanny, a tutor and a lead summer camp director. About me personally: I love to read, create art, play board/card games, go bowling and spending time with my loved ones. I'm open minded, patient, and really enjoy working with kids. I think they're funny, complex human beings who I genuinely learn a lot from. Bonus points if you want me to take your kiddo(s) bowling, mini golfing, or to the public library!

I babysat as a teenager, but I consider my child care experience not only from being a mom, but my ten years as a very involved Waldorf School parent. Which is a wholistic, art based education with a hands on emphasis. It's a wonderful background to have. I am an articulate, lively, active person who loves to go outside and play. I was the fun mom that everyone wanted to ride with on outings. I love handwork and music and good quality local organic food. I love well behaved pets and I have two horses of my own. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but kids love me because I'm active and I'm interested in a lot of different things. I'm not a super big tv person myself but I don't mind kids having their favorite shows, but on my watch it's not going to just be all tv. On top of that I'm a solid dish washing, floor sweeping, trash taker outer. I like things picked up and no grown ups ever argue with that. I'm currently studying Spanish on the side and I absolutely love sharing that with the little ones who pick it up so quickly. I have a great relationship with my own daughter and excellent references for childcare. I'm happy to answer any questions.
