Hi! I’m a full time student at SOU looking for a part time position as a babysitter/pet sitter! I have worked with children of all ages for the last three years and worked with families of all types! I’m open to completing other tasks if requested. I’d consider myself to be kind, patient and passionate especially when it comes to the little ones! I strive to bring a fun, positive and safe environment for the kids.

While attending university, I began facilitating recreation therapy respite for families adjusted by developmental differences. I also continued with the YMCA, YWCA and local youth bureau; all while also living and serving with the local volunteer fire department. Upon graduation I accepted a couple roles as Program Director, but soon realized that front line work was my truest passion. Since my work as a Family Advocate, Wilderness Therapy Guide, Kids Ski Instructor, "Manny" (Nanny), Firefighter, Alpine Manager, Mountain Bike Coach, Lifeguard, and Summer Camp Director for multiple camps, I have gained and honed a diverse skill set. My experience provides families with a compassionate, professional, fun loving, supportive, flexible, and nurturing care giver. Whether you need a one time “babysitter” or a commitment over an extended period of time, I feel confident that I can provide the stimulating and/or structured environment, balanced and tailored for your little people to thrive. Philosophically, I believe in and promote autonomy and democracy; encouraging choice, individuality, compromise, and teamwork. Ex: I do not believe in asking one to apologize, but rather explaining to them the relational benefits of such actions, and providing them the opportunity. Currently, I spend a lot of time in the mountains, tackling personal objectives; so though my location may be elsewhere, I may be looking to work in an area close to your childcare needs.

I’m a stay at home mom of a toddler looking for extra money. We do homeschool, go to the zoo, OMSI, play places and park on a weekly basis. Would love for a kid or two to join us for some fun and learning.

My name is Mackenzie, and I’ve been passionate about working with children for as long as I can remember. Growing up caring for my four younger siblings sparked a love for childcare early on. From babysitting for family members and my mom’s coworkers to pursuing teaching throughout high school, I knew this was the path for me. I’m so grateful that my high school offered a child development course and a cadet teaching program — I even spent five months assisting in a second-grade classroom, which solidified my passion for working with kids. After graduating, I worked as a daycare teacher in Damascus and eventually became the lead in a program that served children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. During my two years there, I had the opportunity to work with every age group, starting in the infant room and gaining experience across all developmental stages. I’ve also nannied for several families, providing personalized, attentive care in home settings. Currently, I work as an Assistant Club Director at a Boys & Girls Club, where I support older youth. While I love what I do, I miss working with younger children, which is why I’m now looking to pick up occasional late-night or weekend babysitting jobs. I’d be so happy to help out and be someone you can count on to care for your little ones!

I am a semi-retired mom (as in I have twin daughters who are graduated from college, working and full fledged adults!) and no grandbabies yet so I like to babysit! Kids are amazing, fun, funny, stress free, and totally live "in the moment" which is something as adults with busy lives we often forget about. I like to think that I can be kind of a borrow-a-grandma type of deal! I can watch the kids, I can feed the kids, I can play with the kids, I can read with the kids (one of my faves!), AND best of all, I can give mom & dad a much needed break! My first job successfully raising twin girls , one of whom has asbergers, to graduate with honors from college should be a pretty good reference. My second reference would be my most recent and ongoing job as a nanny/caregiver/mothers helper to a local family Dad works as an Engineer for Nike and they hail from India. They contacted me on NextDoor and asked me if I was available and it was a match made in Heaven. I came every day for the first year after school 3 hours per day and I really can't say enough about how much I have enjoyed my time with their two boys who have become like family to me. I don't know if it's their culture, their customs or they're just incredibly kind people, but they have valued my work/help so much that they brought me along on a family vacation over the holidays. This year, they have put their youngest in a preschool program and I still help out, its mainly sometimes on weekends/date nites/run to tennis class, etc. Family type errands! So, on that note yes, I am a borrow/ rent-a-grandma! But, Ideally, I'm not just doing this for extra money, as valuable as that is, I am doing it because of the satisfaction of working for my adopted family, knowing that you are a valued member of a family and really helping out. It's just a really good feeling when people look forward to seeing you!!! And you just made their life a little easier!! I'm looking for something special and a special family to help out.

I truly love working with kids, and childcare has been a big part of my life for years. I have over a year of paid babysitting experience, and I’ve also helped raise and care for my four younger sisters which taught me patience, responsibility, and how to stay calm and caring in every situation. Because of that, working with children feels very natural to me.
