Hello Parents, I am a 35 years old and have been working with children since I was 14. I have experience as a nanny, house manager, personal assistant, babysitter, house sitter and pet sitter. I am the oldest of six children and have experience with special needs, food and drug allergies. I specialize in infants and toddlers and take a special interest in children with anxiety. I have worked for several families long term as well as on call, part time, and date nights. My favorite thing about watching children is watching them grow, learn and discover new and great things about the world around them. I believe that routine is very important when it comes to raising children and having a regular caregiver that knows them, their habits, their likes and dislikes makes a huge difference! I am comfortable with homework help, drop off and pick up, taking children to activities as well as inventing activities, potty training, feeding, cooking, cleaning, laundry and more. In addition to this I am also featured on the Sittercity activities blog! I very much look forward to hearing from you!

Hi! I have 5 siblings, and a pet chinchilla 😊 Moved from Upstate New York to Virginia recently! Cared for children with special needs under AIMS for about 2 years. Volunteered at a Sunday/Friday Private School for the past four years. I can work immediately. Full time, part time; you name it! Available weekdays and weekends, 8 am till overnight if needed. Can be flexible with timings. I am CPR certified. I know how to use an EpiPen. Won’t be able to do pick up/drop off. $35-$40 an hour would be ideal. Open to negotiations!

Hi! My name is Abbie C. I’m currently in nursing school locally and just about done with my degree! I have babysit, house/dog sit for about 7 years now so I have plenty of experience. I have a love and passion for children, which is why I hope to work as a pediatric nurse once I'm done with college. If you're in the need for some time to get things done or simply enjoy some time out, I'm happy to help! Just give me a call or shoot me a text and hopefully we can work something out.

Abbie is awesome. She is an excellent date night sitter and was so helpful with my kids when I needed her to pick them up from daycare and help out until my husband and I were off work. She is super responsible and great with two kids (preschool aged and toddler). I feel so comfortable leaving the kids with her which is what we all want!

I am a 35 years old and have Associates degree in early childhood education and majoring in Psychology at GMU. I've worked at least 11+ years as a caregiver in a variety of settings. I consistently care for toddler nephews and other families occasionally. I have cared for multiple ages up to 12years old and worked as a long-term/short-term substitute teacher at Fairfax County Schools. I do not have any children or pets myself, but enjoy working with children and an animal lover. Coming from a teacher's background with experience in the school workplace, I maintain strong caregiving rules as necessary. I have families that I have worked with more than 3 years or more until they don't need a sitter because they moved or kids have grown up. I lived in Northern VA, since I was young and is very familiar with the area. I would love to build long- term relationships with the family with trust. I can call myself as an honest, caring, responsible, innovative, flexible, and fun person :) Please don't hesitate to contact me! I am fluent in English and Korean.

Hello! My name is Rhonda, and I am a Virginia native with a genuine passion for caring for children and supporting families. As the oldest of six girls, nurturing others has always been a natural part of who I am. After transitioning from a career in finance, I followed my heart into childcare, and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. For more than 16 years, I have had the privilege of caring for children of all ages—from newborns and infants to school-aged children—including those with special needs. Throughout my career, I have worked with private families and nanny agencies as a Professional Nanny, Household Manager, ROTA Nanny, Night Nanny, and in the role of a Newborn Care Specialist, building lasting relationships founded on trust, reliability, discretion, flexibility, and compassionate care. What I value most about being a nanny is the opportunity to build meaningful, lasting connections with the children and families I serve. Whether working in a traditional nanny role, providing overnight newborn care, or supporting families on a ROTA schedule, I strive to provide consistency, stability, and seamless care that allows children to thrive. While safety is always my highest priority, I believe children flourish when they feel loved, understood, encouraged, and supported. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident, and free to explore the world around them. My caregiving style is Montessori-inspired, encouraging independence, self-confidence, hands-on learning, and age-appropriate exploration. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences through everyday activities while supporting each child’s natural curiosity, emotional well-being, and developmental milestones. Compassion and service have always been deeply rooted in my family. My parents dedicated more than 45 years to caregiving, teaching my siblings and me the importance of kindness, patience, integrity, and treating every person with dignity and respect. Those values continue to guide the care I provide every day. When I’m not caring for children, I enjoy spending quality time with my three granddaughters, reading, walking, dancing, volunteering in my community. A long-term position with a wonderful family where we can build a strong partnership based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect is my desire.

Ms. Rhonda has been an incredible support to our family. Her help with overnight care allowed me to get the rest I needed so I could show up as the best mom possible for my child. She is caring, attentive, and truly thoughtful in the way she provides care. Knowing my baby was in such capable and compassionate hands gave me complete peace of mind. I am deeply grateful for her and highly recommend her.

I am looking for a family with active kids, full of energy, and that is ready to have a great time! Parents that wish their kids could be more active and outdoors are also welcome. :) (I also enjoy indoor activities, though!) I believe as much as kids can stay outside, playing, and distracted, the better, so they don't get bored or start missing their parents. I love to be out with kids, playground, pool, playing sports, riding a bike, chalking, playing tag, hide and seek, and enjoying the nice weather - if possible! Ps: If your kids like to learn new things, and some Portuguese (I'm from Brazil), I will be more than happy to teach them!

Emy was fabulous with our 5yo daughter and 2.5yo son! We used Emy when we traveling in DC for a weekend. She was a recommendation from a mom friend. Before arriving, she asked about their likes and dislikes. When she came, she had library books with their favorite characters and activities prepared that I mentioned they enjoyed. She is also proactive in figuring out how to make my life easier. She offered to take the kids to the park when I needed to pack for our trip back. She sent me pictures of them at the playground, having a picnic, etc. She is a great communicator. I would highly recommend her!

I have always enjoyed working with children. I started babysitting in junior high and by the time I was in high school I had an afternoon job at a local day care center. I went on to get my teaching degree in Elementary Education and taught five years of third grade and a year of kindergarten. After having three children of my own and taking some time off I went back to teaching but decided to try preschool instead and ended up teaching 8 years of it. After teaching elementary I was surprised at how much I loved working with the little ones. I was the lead teacher for a 3 and 4 year old class for 5 years and my last three years I taught a 5 day a week k-4 position. Over the last 10 years I’ve been doing part-time /full time Nanny jobs. I have worked for over 18 families and have taken care of over 41 children ranging from newborn to 12 years olds. I have enjoyed using my teaching skills and early childhood training to create a loving , nurturing, fun and safe environment for each child I take care of. I appreciate all the opportunities I have had to work with such wonderful parents and their amazing children.

Linda has worked for our family for the past year and a half, and we are sadly moving out of state. She has become a part of our family--caring for my 6 year old (with ADHD), 3 year old, 2 year old, and 7 month old. She was there the day we came home from the hospital with the baby, and has been flexible, reliable, trustworthy, and loving with all of the kids. She is creative, and teaches them preschool activities, does crafts, and even cleans while they nap. The kids talk about her as if she is family, and we have never felt comfortable leaving our kids (even all 4, including a newborn!) with anyone other than her. Highly, highly recommend her!

Reina is AMAZING. She is kind. She genuinely cared about our daughter, and our daughter loved her like a second mother--because she was like a second mother. Reina is also very smart and responsible. She read up on childcare, applied what she found, and was great about following any instructions we had. Reina was also incredibly patient, even in the face of toddler chaos and tantrums, which made me feel very safe having her in charge. We were lucky enough to have Reina come for hours several days per week for multiple years, so we worked with her a lot. I'm probably forgetting some other great qualities to mention. But given how intelligent and trustworthy she is, I know that I would highly recommend her for any position. She is a talented, caring, and careful person.
