I am looking for a family with active kids, full of energy, and that is ready to have a great time! Parents that wish their kids could be more active and outdoors are also welcome. :) (I also enjoy indoor activities, though!) I believe as much as kids can stay outside, playing, and distracted, the better, so they don't get bored or start missing their parents. I love to be out with kids, playground, pool, playing sports, riding a bike, chalking, playing tag, hide and seek, and enjoying the nice weather - if possible! Ps: If your kids like to learn new things, and some Portuguese (I'm from Brazil), I will be more than happy to teach them!

Emy was fabulous with our 5yo daughter and 2.5yo son! We used Emy when we traveling in DC for a weekend. She was a recommendation from a mom friend. Before arriving, she asked about their likes and dislikes. When she came, she had library books with their favorite characters and activities prepared that I mentioned they enjoyed. She is also proactive in figuring out how to make my life easier. She offered to take the kids to the park when I needed to pack for our trip back. She sent me pictures of them at the playground, having a picnic, etc. She is a great communicator. I would highly recommend her!

Rhonda N., Nanny in Catlett, VA 20119 with 16 years of paid experience

Hello! My name is Rhonda, and I am a Virginia native with a genuine passion for caring for children and supporting families. As the oldest of six girls, nurturing others has always been a natural part of who I am. After transitioning from a career in finance, I followed my heart into childcare, and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. For more than 16 years, I have had the privilege of caring for children of all ages—from newborns and infants to school-aged children—including those with special needs. Throughout my career, I have worked with private families and nanny agencies as a Professional Nanny, Household Manager, ROTA Nanny, Night Nanny, and in the role of a Newborn Care Specialist, building lasting relationships founded on trust, reliability, discretion, flexibility, and compassionate care. What I value most about being a nanny is the opportunity to build meaningful, lasting connections with the children and families I serve. Whether working in a traditional nanny role, providing overnight newborn care, or supporting families on a ROTA schedule, I strive to provide consistency, stability, and seamless care that allows children to thrive. While safety is always my highest priority, I believe children flourish when they feel loved, understood, encouraged, and supported. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident, and free to explore the world around them. My caregiving style is Montessori-inspired, encouraging independence, self-confidence, hands-on learning, and age-appropriate exploration. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences through everyday activities while supporting each child’s natural curiosity, emotional well-being, and developmental milestones. Compassion and service have always been deeply rooted in my family. My parents dedicated more than 45 years to caregiving, teaching my siblings and me the importance of kindness, patience, integrity, and treating every person with dignity and respect. Those values continue to guide the care I provide every day. When I’m not caring for children, I enjoy spending quality time with my three granddaughters, reading, walking, dancing, volunteering in my community. A long-term position with a wonderful family where we can build a strong partnership based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect is my desire.

Ms. Rhonda has been an incredible support to our family. Her help with overnight care allowed me to get the rest I needed so I could show up as the best mom possible for my child. She is caring, attentive, and truly thoughtful in the way she provides care. Knowing my baby was in such capable and compassionate hands gave me complete peace of mind. I am deeply grateful for her and highly recommend her.

Hello Parents, I am a 35 years old and have been working with children since I was 14. I have experience as a nanny, house manager, personal assistant, babysitter, house sitter and pet sitter. I am the oldest of six children and have experience with special needs, food and drug allergies. I specialize in infants and toddlers and take a special interest in children with anxiety. I have worked for several families long term as well as on call, part time, and date nights. My favorite thing about watching children is watching them grow, learn and discover new and great things about the world around them. I believe that routine is very important when it comes to raising children and having a regular caregiver that knows them, their habits, their likes and dislikes makes a huge difference! I am comfortable with homework help, drop off and pick up, taking children to activities as well as inventing activities, potty training, feeding, cooking, cleaning, laundry and more. In addition to this I am also featured on the Sittercity activities blog! I very much look forward to hearing from you!

We are sad to be saying goodbye to our amazing nanny, Violet, as our four children transition into full-time school. This is completely a change in our family’s childcare needs—we would absolutely keep her if we could! Violet has 6+ years of nanny experience and has cared for children ranging from infants through age 10, including families with 1–4 children. She has a particular strength with infants and toddlers and is exceptional at creating a warm, engaging, developmentally rich day for young children. She is: * ❤️ Incredibly nurturing, attentive and playful * ? Exceptional with infants & toddlers * ? Wonderful with early learning and development—our youngest’s speech, reading, and engagement have flourished with her * ? Creative and constantly engaged: art projects, scavenger hunts, chalk obstacle courses, playground adventures, etc. * ?️ Extremely organized and thorough with schedules, routines, logistics and transitions * ? Excellent with sleep routines * ? Comfortable preparing meals and encouraging independence * ? Experienced driving children to school and activities in a family-provided vehicle * ? An exceptional communicator with parents—honest, thoughtful, proactive and genuinely collaborative One of Violet’s biggest strengths is that she really gets to know each child and adjusts to their personality and needs. As parents, we have especially appreciated how closely she communicates with us—sharing observations, asking questions, navigating transitions together, and making us feel like true partners in our children’s care.

Katherine B., Nanny in Catlett, VA 20119 with 18 years of paid experience

Throughout my young life I have constantly been surrounded by positive influences, from my family & friends, to the people I encounter each day. Growing up I was raised on a ranch that came with a lot of responsibilities, which helped me grow into the hard-working, caring, reliable, and honest person I am today. Children have always been a part of my life and I love that I can share the responsibility to be a great influence to help them grow into healthy, intelligent, mature young adults. I have 25+ years of experience in caring for children, from family and friends, babysitting for families in town, to my own daughters and son. As well as four families I have come to care very much about. I am looking for part-time/full-time work, rates are negotiable, as my children will be with me and prefer to babysit in my own home if needed during the day. I am 39 years young, married to my husband Greg. Sydney 18, Everett 6.5, and Ellarose 4 , and Agnes 2 are my kiddos. I am an artist, photographer, and avid traveler/adventurer and my husband, Greg is a Mechanical Engineer. We are currently living in Manassas, Virginia. I am very dependable, responsible, and organized. I am a non-smoker. I speak fluent English, a little sign language, a bit of French, & Spanish – with a great desire to become fluent. I am energetic, love to laugh, have fun, and explore. I have loved ones, children and adults with ADD, Asperger Syndrome/Autism, Down Syndrome, Diabetes, Obesity, a mild case of Tourette Syndrome, & Obsessive Complusive Disorder, so I am fairly familiar with all. I have been through an EMT course, I am CPR certified for infants, children, and adults, as well as for first aid. I have my own vehicle, VA state license, and a very good driving record. Have played the piano for over 25 years and am very interested in music in all aspects. I have knowledge with the trumpet, saxophone, french horn, ukuleke and did my best learning the violin :o) Art, travel, photography, gardening, homesteading, hockey, going to the beach, kayaking, being outside, reading, crafting, writing, sewing, and cooking are some of my many hobbies. I am open to any new experiences and tasks, especially if there is a potential to better myself and my family. I can bring a great dedication and loyalty to your family, as well as a warm demeanor to put your minds at ease.

Linda P., Nanny in Catlett, VA 20119 with 17 years of paid experience

I have always enjoyed working with children. I started babysitting in junior high and by the time I was in high school I had an afternoon job at a local day care center. I went on to get my teaching degree in Elementary Education and taught five years of third grade and a year of kindergarten. After having three children of my own and taking some time off I went back to teaching but decided to try preschool instead and ended up teaching 8 years of it. After teaching elementary I was surprised at how much I loved working with the little ones. I was the lead teacher for a 3 and 4 year old class for 5 years and my last three years I taught a 5 day a week k-4 position. Over the last 10 years I’ve been doing part-time /full time Nanny jobs. I have worked for over 18 families and have taken care of over 41 children ranging from newborn to 12 years olds. I have enjoyed using my teaching skills and early childhood training to create a loving , nurturing, fun and safe environment for each child I take care of. I appreciate all the opportunities I have had to work with such wonderful parents and their amazing children.

Linda has worked for our family for the past year and a half, and we are sadly moving out of state. She has become a part of our family--caring for my 6 year old (with ADHD), 3 year old, 2 year old, and 7 month old. She was there the day we came home from the hospital with the baby, and has been flexible, reliable, trustworthy, and loving with all of the kids. She is creative, and teaches them preschool activities, does crafts, and even cleans while they nap. The kids talk about her as if she is family, and we have never felt comfortable leaving our kids (even all 4, including a newborn!) with anyone other than her. Highly, highly recommend her!

I can’t wait to meet your family! I have extensive many experiences and since leaving my formal job where I designed early childhood development programs for non profits for over 18 years. I also worked with USAID/contractors helping countries design their programs for early learners. Right now I’ve taken a year off from work. Finishing my children’s book and a few other things. I worked for a nanny agency but I needed flexibility so now I work for a select families who love me and their kids love me. Did I say my specialty is actually babies and premies from new borns to 12 months. If you have an older kid yes I can always provide care too for an extra $1. I am very energetic, a runner so your toddler boys will have a treat! I have raised my own kids they’re young adults, super successful and very kind human beings. I am most proud of being a mother and I want to help mothers and fathers manage their work schedules while balancing child care with less stress- that’s where I come in. I work weekends and some holidays except Christmas and Thanksgiving. My friends call me loyal and trustworthy. I am a problem solver--most importantly I have great vibes, kids love me at first sight and parents trust me!I am also very healthy conscious, I am a runner, it helps to keep up with kids. I look forward to providing your child care needs! Hope to hear from you and to help support your family with care.

Reina is AMAZING. She is kind. She genuinely cared about our daughter, and our daughter loved her like a second mother--because she was like a second mother. Reina is also very smart and responsible. She read up on childcare, applied what she found, and was great about following any instructions we had. Reina was also incredibly patient, even in the face of toddler chaos and tantrums, which made me feel very safe having her in charge. We were lucky enough to have Reina come for hours several days per week for multiple years, so we worked with her a lot. I'm probably forgetting some other great qualities to mention. But given how intelligent and trustworthy she is, I know that I would highly recommend her for any position. She is a talented, caring, and careful person.
