Care is needed for their 10-year-old son & 8-year-old daughter 3-5 days per week from 3-6pm ideally to start in August. The family is ideally looking for a caregiver to start before the children’s school starts to learn their routines & get to know their family. They are flexible on the start date, days of the week, & are open to the caregiver’s availability.

Care includes picking up their children from school, which is 2 blocks from their home. Their son will be in 5th grade & prefers to walk home with friend or independently. Their daughter will be in 3rd grade & will need to be walked home. Care also includes helping their homework, providing snacks, taking them to after-school activities, the children’s laundry, & overall supervision.

The ideal caregiver has experience caring for school-aged children, has a clean driving record, a valid driver's license, and lives within 5 miles of their home. The family will provide a car when transportation is needed. The family is looking for a caregiver that is willing to provide references of former families & ideally has a background in education, a related field, or is pursuing a degree. This may be a great opportunity for a student at the University of Chicago or a nearby school. They are looking for a long-term relationship & if the caregiver is interested in additional hours, there are opportunities for this with the children’s days off of school & date nights.

The family lives on the campus of the University of Chicago in a walkable neighborhood near parks, activities, & restaurants. Their son loves everything baseball! Their daughter enjoys arts & crafts, drawing, making slime, & dancing! They are both very active & love being outside. They do not have any allergies or pets. The family is offering $25-30 per hour based on experience/qualifications & a dedicated parking area.
