My son uses an AAC device that we call the “Talker” to communicate so you will also be supporting his communication by regularly engaging him to ask for things with his device rather than pointing or bringing you physically to what he wants. You should be able to lift 50 lbs and be able to stand, walk, and take stairs comfortably for distances in order to safely and comfortably care for my child.
