I began my child care journey 35 years ago with the birth of my 1st child, I then had 2 more. I was a stay at home mom. I believe I had a more structured approach to raising my kids than most. Teaching my children how to love and respect others, how to be kind, safe and enjoy life at the same time was my daily goal. I believe children should all have the opportunity to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically, relationally, and spiritually in a safe place. Learning something new everyday is a must, I like to expose children to real life skills, gardening, baking, puzzles, art projects of all sorts, and helping out around the house.

I have loved caring for children since I raised my two daughters…it’s always been my joy to guide and nurture children and teach them through play and discovery in various capacities…I’m a nature lover and kids generally are as well!

I love being a sitter because I truly enjoy spending time with kids and being a positive part of their day. I love creating activities that keep them engaged whether it’s playing outside, doing crafts, or helping with homework and seeing them smile makes my day. Hello! My name is Sabra. I’m 25, and I’m currently working on my graduate degree for occupational therapy. I’ve always loved kids, and I fell in love with my job as a paraprofessional when I graduated college initially. I worked as a para for two years in the SSN classroom, and I still try to substitute teach when I have time and I’m needed. I have worked as both an as-needed babysitter and a nanny in the past. As a substitute teacher, I have taught 20-25 kids at a time. I babysat here and there in high school, but from 18-25, I’ve gotten much more experience working with kids as a babysitter an in the public school system. I love kids for their unique way of viewing the world and for their amazing sense of humor. I have yet to meet a kid that hasn’t been able to make me laugh. As an occupational therapy student and with my teaching experience, I can help kiddos with their schoolwork or work on specific skills such as fine and gross motor or sequencing skills. I love to play with kids and just have fun too. Imaginative play is my personal favorite, but board games are a close second. I also love crafting and baking too! I always try to make a connection with the kid I’m working with through our likes and interests. I find that kids are much more open to a new person when they have something in common, even a favorite color. I also have experience with neurodivergent kids and kids who have more specific needs. As a previous para, I have experience with helping kids in dressing, hygiene, feeding, and various other skills. I am CPR and first aid certified. I am getting my education through Creighton University as a hybrid program where I watch lectures online and go to in-person labs at Regis University. I’m a 20 year old college student studying art history going into my junior year. I have baby sat younger siblings, and helped with family friends younger kids. I have worked with kids of all ages and kids with Down syndrome.
