Hi everyone! I'm Anna, I've always loved caring for and educating children. I have my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I grew up in a big family with 11 siblings and over 20 nieces and nephews!! So caring for children has been a natural part of my life. I've worked with kids of all ages, but most of my professional experience is with 12months to 5 years old. I student taught at Hill and Plain elementary for the preschool. I led activities ranging from story times, music, and movement, to various art and sensory projects. My focus was always pushing curiosity and of course giving them a safe space to do so! When I was 12 years old I started helping my aunt with my little cousins and from there my experience with children grew. In high school I organized birthday parties for small children at a sports center. From there I worked at a day care teaching children ranging in age from infancy to school age, responsible for four to 10 children at a time. It was there that I fell in love with a family and became their nanny full time. At the time I started with them they had three children, ages 6 months, 2 and 4. With the family I was responsible for organizing their daily activities, driving them to preschool, activities, appointments, play dates, etc. Two years later I rose to the challenge as the family had another child. Hi! My name is Loren Lazarus, I live in New Fairfield, and I am a recent Empty Nester who misses being with young children! I truly cherish the opportunity to help other parents in need of child care, whether it be a set schedule or a one time opportunity. I love to help entertain kids by reading, playing outdoors, playing board games, doing crafts, baking and cooking - anything to keep them off of their devices! I graduated from Emory University back in 1990. After having a successful career in advertising for over ten years, I stopped working to care for my premature twins (who are now 23 and out on their own). I eventually returned to the workforce part time as a Substitute Teacher in New Fairfield's two elementary schools, where I often worked one-on-one with children with autism. After teaching for a couple of years, I went back to work full time as a Job Coach, working with adults with disabilities, first in a restaurant, then in a movie theater. I did this for about five years, then COVID hit, and sadly, I, along with many, lost my job. Since then, I have been helping a family in town during the school year, taking care of their children in the mornings (giving them breakfast and getting them on the bus) and afternoons (getting them off the bus and giving them a snack). Since I am free between approximately 8:30 and 3:00, I am looking to fill this gap a few days a week. I'm also available most evenings and some weekends. In addition, I am free most of the summer. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and also have my ServSafe food license. I am fully vaccinated and double boosted.
