Hi, my name is Valerie and I am interested in part-time childcare work. I am a mom of 5 Vikings ( as my husband and I call them). My two oldest have moved out, and I have 2 in High School and 1 in Community College. I have been a stay-at-home mom for (most of) 23 yrs. I started following my kids to school, and volunteering in classrooms until the school finally hired me! When I realized that my kids would rather be with their friends I decided it was time to get out of the house. My neighbor agreed and offered me up as a nanny for friends of hers. I obtained my CPR certification and accepted a temporary Nanny position, part-time, for an infant. I so enjoyed my time with a little again! My position ended when circumstances changed and the family moved from the area. Since that first job, I’ve had a family in town for two days for work and hired me to care for their infant for a few days. Then two very lovely families who each only needed me part of the week became my primary jobs and kept my schedule full. Then it happened. A job offer for Husband, in Michigan. Since we are originally from Michigan, we made the very difficult decision to move. Yay Husband. Bummer to leave the families I had been a part of. Pre-Husband and Vikings, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science at Central Michigan University. Being a bit of a wanderer, I found myself in Chicago working at an Ad Agency! My family and I moved to Greensboro about 8yrs ago, and loved having both mountains and Ocean available for our adventures. However, the never ending heat and humidity will not be missed. I enjoy getting outdoors daily, and perhaps it’s the Earth Science background, but I love taking the little ones outside and introducing them to the trees, flowers, birds, whatever we come across. Kids are such natural sponges, they soak it all in. Having the opportunity to smell or touch or hold something greatly improves their understanding of their environment.

Hi, my name is Mercedes. I am 20 years old. I am a college student planning on going into social work. I’m in my second year at Washtenaw community college. I have worked with kids ranging from 3 months to 17 years old. I am a direct care provider. I do also work with adults. I am the oldest of five and have taken care of my siblings from a young age. I was placed in foster care and was adopted at 14. With my history I have found that I want to help children in need. In middle school I volunteered at a summer camp for elementary school aged children. In high school I was mentor for middle schoolers. During my summers in high school I baby sat along with doing overnight camps. Outside of high school I have worked at two different care centers. I have babysat up to eight kids at a time. My Junior and senior year of high school I did coach lacrosse for elementary and middle school girls. I am a pretty active person along with some creativity. I am CPR certified along with other certifications that can be shown upon request.

Hi, I’m Brynne! I’m a responsible, fun, and attentive sitter with a strong respect for the trust families place in their caregivers. I’m starting medical school next year and I’m interested in pediatrics because spending time with kids is such a joy for me! I bring a thoughtful, creative approach to childcare. I previously worked as a nanny for a little girl in Dallas from ages one to two and have had many babysitting roles since middle school, giving me years of experience with children of different ages and personalities. I’m comfortable with routines like meals, bedtime, homework help, and playtime, and I prioritize clear communication and reliability. My goal is to create an environment where kids feel secure and supported and parents feel confident stepping away.

I specialize in working with busy professional families and pride myself on being exceptionally reliable, punctual, and organized. Hi there! I have been working with kids since before I graduated high school. Straight after I graduated in 2015 I started working at a daycare in Jackson, MI. It will be 6 years this upcoming October that I have been there. I dealt mostly with infant to toddler age and I did play the lead role in the toddler room for about two years. I do not have any schooling but am very knowledgeable when it comes to caring for children. I really enjoy working with kids and would love to continue to do so. I am moving to Ann Arbor mid March (3/15/21) and am looking for something a little bit more calm than a daycare setting. I have always been interested becoming a nanny so I figured this is the perfect opportunity for me to find a nanny position. Hope to hear back soon! Thank you!

Hi. My name is Cynthia. As long as I can remember, I have loved kids. When I was a little girl and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always tell them, "I want to own an orphanage." I ended up becoming an internal medicine doctor instead. I have recently retired, I am bored, and would love to babysit. I am extremely energetic, imaginative, and fun. I enjoy doing art projects and science experiments. Over the years I have collected over 200 children books, and love reading to kids. When my son was young, I bought him a binocular microscope, which i could bring over so we can look at things from bee wings, to pond scum. If you are looking for someone who is reliable, kind, enjoys hands-on teaching, and loves kids, send me a note.
