Hi! I'm Shannon, a 28 year old who lives in Raleigh and babysits for a living. I have reliable transportation and I'm CPR/ First Aid certified. I have been babysitting since I was 17 professionally. I started watching children with autism at 18 until last year because I became a full time nanny. I'm taking time off from Wake Technical Community college to save up money and figure out exactly which career I would like to pursue. I would love to talk on the phone, meet for coffee, an dome over to meet your family. I'm friendly, respectful, prompt, and tidy. Look forward to hearing from you! Shannon

I love being a sitter because I enjoy spending time with kids, helping them feel safe, cared for, and entertained while giving parents peace of mind. I may not have years of professional experience, but I’ve had plenty of practice looking after younger family members and family friends, which taught me patience, responsibility, and how to keep kids engaged. I can help with simple things like preparing snacks, tidying up, playing games, reading, and making sure routines like bedtime are followed. I’m also comfortable helping with homework, doing light housework, and keeping kids entertained with fun, age-appropriate activities. Families can count on me to be reliable, caring, and attentive to their children’s needs. My goal is to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment whenever I’m with them.

I have 3+ years working in childcare. I currently work at a Daycare in Marina bay and a swim school in Brookline. It’s starting to get chilly so I’m looking for a better adjustment. It’s my senior year of high school and I’m trying to rack up on money for college.

A little bit about me… CPR & First Aid Certified. Clean driving record. No criminal history/clean background check. I drive a safe reliable SUV with 3rd row seating. Lots of experience caring for children of all ages. Super pet friendly! I like to stay busy. Positive gentle redirection for misguided behavior. Other relevant certifications: Common illness prevention, Crisis Response and Recovery, Mental Health Awareness, Sports supervision and safety. I absolutely love children! I believe I have so much to offer a family that’s looking for a nanny. My mother was a nanny and It was fun being raised surrounded by children. I learned so much from her. I am a mother of a 21-year-old daughter, and a 16-year-old son whom I adore. I bring both professional expertise and personal experience in nurturing and guiding children. I have a deep passion for the outdoors, and staying healthy and active. I love to visit parks and museums, zoos, aquariums, explore new places, and embrace a sense of fun and adventure! I am so excited to share my passion for life while fostering growth, creativity, and joy in the lives of the children I care for! I am happy to prepare healthy food/or bottles and snacks and I will be doing light housekeeping to maintain a clean safe environment. I can also run errands, do pick ups/drop offs, do the shopping, take the children to activities and extracurriculars, and take them on field trips to fun places. I am fully available for travel and I adore pets. I fully respect, support, and uphold the parents’ schedule and goals for your child(ren). Being there to ensure happy healthy children, and to help out however I can to make life happier and bit easier are my goals. I am available to begin right away. My 'Prime Objective' as a Caregiver is nurturing a sense of wonder and curiosity in preschoolers -- and imagination plus reality-based competencies in the over-5s. (While keeping them safe and cared for, of course!) And I really prefer to avoid electronic screens for children! That's why I love to read with children. And bring intriguing books from my collection from classic to modern... Plus I'm always up for outdoor fun! And getting down on the floor and building things. Over years, I've put together a big wooden train collection with a SUITCASE full of tracks, specialty pieces like bridges, tunnels, ramps and connectors, with several battery powered remote controllable locomotives. Children 3-9 can literally spend enthralled HOURS assembling their own creative layouts then running trains. (While naturally enhancing their spatial intelligence, collaboration skills and 'stick-to-it-ness'...) Other options: a set of colorful wood blocks; tea sets (covert etiquette lessons and cookie baking!); princess and knight costumes for feeling special and dress-up play; Nerfball shooters (with eye protection!). An old-fashioned portable record player with classic vintage story records. Art supplies, an easel, squirt guns and sprinkler... For several years, I worked as a private-duty CNA and in-home Caregiver for elderly and disabled people. This type of upscale agency work requires immaculate background checks, excellent health, clean drug tests, reliability and being on time, as well as cheerfulness, compassion and competence. Now, I'm semi-retired, active and healthy, and LOVE interacting with children. In high school, I babysat for most of the kids in our neighborhood, was a paid Girl Scout Day Camp Counselor with full charge of eight 9 year old girls, had Red Cross Lifesaver Swimming Certification, and taught horseback riding. Have First Aid and CPR Certificates and recent college Certificate In Child Development. Have experience with autistic and medically fragile children. A recent review, from an ER nurse: "Just wanted to say thank you again for the great care that Sue gave the boys yesterday. She's so patient and amazing and I like the fact that she's mature and is a grandparent herself. She brought her own books and toys and the boys just had a blast with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking care, she definitely is an asset..." Allison RN 💚Miss Sue
