I have spent time working with children of all ages in paid babysitting/nannying positions since I was 16, as well as counseling kids 5-18 at a summer camp for 10+ years. I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and love to use some of my professional skills with the kiddos I work with. In addition to spending time with children, I love being outdoors (swimming, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing), practicing yoga, traveling, and reading. I am (mostly) fluent in Spanish and have spent many months in Mexico volunteering at an orphanage. I come from a big family growing up with 7 other siblings in the household. I'm the oldest daughter of 5 other siblings. Being the oldest daughter came with a lot of responsibilities. Growing up throughout the years I spent those periods being the surrogate parent to my younger siblings, always being on call for my mother 24/7/365. Watching over kids started when I would do little babysitting jobs for my mothers friends, while they worked or went out, and that's when I knew I was good with kids, and loved being around them. I am First Aid and CPR certified, I also took 2 Childhood Development classes in 10th and 11th grade. Life with children can be unpredictable and I know I'm able to adapt to the situations they face. I'm a former daycare teacher with 22yrs experience who has become a loving nanny to a family in Fox chapel for the last 3 years. We enjoy spending our days being active at the parks and libraries in the area. Most of my experience is with toddlers where I've done various activities and art projects.
