Hello! I am excited to be back here and am eager to meet you and your family. My background entails a variety of hands-on experience working with and caring for children of all ages and stages. I devoted 8 joyous years as a Special Education Paraeducator, working with children from 4 to 18 years old. Soon after starting my own family, I proceeded with turning my home into a small State Licensed Daycare and Preschool, educating and caring for children from 12 weeks to 13 years old. After 9 adventure filled years, my husband and I decided to depart from the constant sunshine and move here to the beautiful PNW, requiring me to close my Daycare and Preschool. It has been my privilege for 7 years as a Nanny, to have partnered with parents on providing the nurturing and structure needed for the development of their children. I have been a nanny/babysitter for as long as I can remember! I absolutely love kids and teaching them fun new things and sports! Other then nannying I have coached volleyball for the past 8 years anywhere from 6th grade to High School Varsity. I have my bachelors degree in Psychology with a specialization in child development and after that plans of getting a Master in mental health counseling for school aged kids! I have extensive infant/toddler/kid experience as it has been my job for the past few years! I have done things from “shorter" jobs such as date nights and giving rides to places, all the way up to overnights where I spent the entire week with three boys while their parents were out of the country. My past experiences make me very versatile so I am open to anything that you might need help with from young kiddos needing bottle feeding, sleep training, food transitioning, potty training, etc. And for older kids I’m happy to give homework help, create and implement structured days, prepare meals, and clean up. A couple random things I honestly love are running errands/grocery shopping and doing laundry. I understand life is unpredictable so I’m happy to provide sick care! The most kids I've watched at once not including playdates was 4 at a time and it was a blast. I would say that I am a very flexible and understanding person and am always happy to to grow and change with your family’s needs. I think it's very important to build a good relationship with the kid(s) and parent(s) so it's a nice experience for everyone. I love getting outside and playing and even going on day trips to explore! I am fully vaccinated and have my own car (with 7 seats) including two toddler car seats and a clean driving record! Hi there! I am Abby (she/her). I graduated from the University of Washington in June 2024. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Communities, and Organizations with Disability Studies and American Indian Studies minors. I have been caring for children for 6 years as a babysitter and as the oldest sibling, as well as supervising children in summer camp and school settings. My babysitting experience ranges in ages from infant to twelve. I recently cared for a one year old for six months, starting when she was only six months herself - this included diaper changes, feedings, putting her down for naps, and taking her on adventures to Kids Club, swimming, and free events at the local library. I have also babysat toddlers and assisted them with potty training. I also babysit families with siblings ranging in ages of 2-4 and 6-10. I truly love working with kids, and I approach each child as an individual who I get to help grow and teach. With each family I understand cleaning is not expected but light housework such as dishes, vacuuming, and tidying up the toy room is no problem for me! I have experience babysitting children with ASD and ADHD. I have found success in building relationships with these children through discussing triggers, what the child enjoys, and boundaries with parents before we start working together. I am also passionate about working with children with disabilities in the school setting. I am currently a substitute, often filling in as a paraprofessional. From September 2023 to May 2024 I held an internship as a substitute paraprofessional in the Seattle Public School system, regularly working at Concord International Elementary School. I have babysat for many friends and families over the past 7 years, before and after school, on weekends and consistently throughout the summer. I also worked in a daycare, part-time during high-school, interacting and taking care of children starting as young as 2 months old. I love going on adventures, playing sports, being outside, trying new & creative things, baking/ cooking as well as working together and using an imagination to have fun! I’ve worked as a camp counselor/teacher with Adventures in Writing for four years, a Lead Teacher with the YMCA for two, and a lead teacher for Innovation Learning for two years. I moved from Ashland, where I was a toddler teacher for two years. After moving from Ashland I became a Lead a Toddler Teacher at an in home daycare for over a year before getting the opportunity to become a Toddler Guide at a Montessori School. I love doing crafts with kids and helping them figure out what they love to do! I am CPR/First Aid certified and can help with potty training!
