I devoted 8 joyous years as a Special Education Paraeducator, working with children from 4 to 18 years old. Soon after starting my own family, I proceeded with turning my home into a small State Licensed Daycare and Preschool, educating and caring for children from 12 weeks to 13 years old. After 9 adventure filled years, my husband and I decided to depart from the constant sunshine and move here to the beautiful PNW, requiring me to close my Daycare and Preschool. I have been a nanny/babysitter for as long as I can remember! I absolutely love kids and teaching them fun new things and sports! Other then nannying I have coached volleyball for the past 8 years anywhere from 6th grade to High School Varsity. I have my bachelors degree in Psychology with a specialization in child development and after that plans of getting a Master in mental health counseling for school aged kids! A couple random things I honestly love are running errands/grocery shopping and doing laundry. I understand life is unpredictable so I’m happy to provide sick care! The most kids I've watched at once not including playdates was 4 at a time and it was a blast. I would say that I am a very flexible and understanding person and am always happy to to grow and change with your family’s needs. I think it's very important to build a good relationship with the kid(s) and parent(s) so it's a nice experience for everyone. I love getting outside and playing and even going on day trips to explore! I am fully vaccinated and have my own car (with 7 seats) including two toddler car seats and a clean driving record! My name is Rostana, I recently graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Public Health and I will be going to nursing school at Linfield doing their Masters in nursing program upcoming term. Darla’s Bio I am originally from Laguna Beach, California! I have 3 brothers and have always been surrounded by kids! I attended college in Eugene, OR to pursue an Early Childhood Development degree. After a year of college, I traveled to Sri Lanka to live locally and volunteer daily at a Special Needs Orphanage. I then followed an opportunity to Spain to be an Au Pair for a family with a daughter with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. I had a full time nanny position in Encinitas, CA, from August 2018- August 2019(Ages 4 and 9). I have worked in 3 different Montessori schools since moving to Portland. I am currently a live in nanny with a family I have worked with and loved for 3 years! However, Both children are in full-time school now. So I am looking for a part-time positions.
