Presently I care for children on a part-time basis and have room for more part-time childcare. I also have experience caring for animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, and smaller creatures. I have babysat for many families over the years - for kids of all ages. I absolutely adore not only taking care of kids but being able to provide them with a nurturing, interactive, safe yet fun environment. Most recently, I was a part-time nanny for a sweet one-year-old girl and took care of her three days a week. In addition to making sure she was well-taken care, I helped out with housework such as cooking, cleaning/tidying, organizing, laundry and more. Post-UCLA and after another year of nannying, I left California to serve in the Peace Corps as an Education Volunteer in Burkina Faso, West Africa where I taught preschool in a rural village to over sixty-six children. I also taught English to high school-aged children and some adults on the side. After returning from the Peace Corps, I found myself back in Los Angeles where I started to teach again at a private preschool in West LA. It was a wonderful opportunity where I was able to plan and prepare incredible, creative lessons for my students. A little more about who I am - my passions include yoga, Ayurvedic medicine, herbalism and cooking. I'm also working on starting a small business so saving up for that. While I do not have any of my own children yet, I I absolutely love spending time with kids and truly enjoy encouraging them to embrace life to the fullest. I was also a nanny for a little over a year before I had my daughter in August of 2019. I would like to stay at home with her while I work. I'm wanting to watch an infant or toddler so that my daughter could have a little friend that would be close to her age. My daughter has a large bedroom and we have a decent size living room for a baby/toddler to crawl/walk on. We have a fenced back patio, but I can also take your child on walks in the stroller or to one of a few different parks that are easy to walk to if your child is old enough. I would help your child learn by reading, singing, flashcards and artwork (if they are old enough) I would nurture their curiosity and help develop motor skills in a structured environment.
