Hello, I’m excited to be applying for this job. My name is Madelyn Haywood but I usually go by Maddie. I’m 22 years old and in December I will have two Bachelor science degrees in Criminology/Criminal Justice and Crime Scene Investigation. I went to Nursing school for a year but decided to take a break partly for my mental health and also because of COVID. My whole life I have loved children and grew up babysitting my 6 cousins lots of times as well as my own special needs brother. My cousins were aged 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 6 months when I first began in high school. The oldest child is special needs and needs extra care such as tube feeding. I also grew up with a special needs older brother who could not talk or walk. I would always play with him/entertain him, help clean and change his diaper, and help feed him. I always put others first in my care and care about their comfort and feelings. He passed away unfortunately, but he had such an impact on me and my heart. I enjoy teaching children with interactive activities such as sensory play and art and crafts with learning elements such as colors, shapes, numbers, letters, animals etc. I have worked with every age from infant to school age children. I couldn't imagine having any other job than working with kids. I also am somewhat of a “magnet” for children.
