Throughout the last 20 years as a teacher and managing services for children with developmental disabilities in the department of health and department of education I have worked as a nanny.on the side for supplemental income. I have extensive experience with premature infants up to middle school children and with children on the spectrum, with ADHD or speech delays. I am well versed in the milestones a child should achieve and as a caregiver I implement age appropriate goals to make sure that I work with each child on all their domains of development including their cognitive, sociall, language, academic (if applicable) and physical; although safety is always my #1 priority. I love being a nanny because working around kids of all ages watching and helping them grow, learn and develop some skills which can be helpful in their lives gives me a sense of purpose, peace, happiness and pride. Skills such as: reading, writing, potting training, learning to use utensils safely also socializing in a calm and safe manner with others.
