Special Needs Caretaker

- $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

We are looking for a caretaker to assist with our son, a 21-year-old man with Down syndrome. Responsibilities include taking him to activities, typically sports practice, and assisting him in learning daily tasks, such as washing and folding his clothes, washing and putting dishes away, reading with him, etc. There may also be some light work around the house.
There will be about 15 hours of week a work, typically 3:30 to 6:30 or 4 to 7 pm, with the possibility of an earlier afternoon start on Wednesdays, if available. During summers and vacations, earlier hours are possible if available.
Location is next to UCI campus in Irvine
Pay is $20 to $30 an hour based on prior experience and expertise plus mileage reimbursement for any local driving.
Qualifications
Prior successful experience working with children or adults with special needs is required, for example as a school teacher aide or an ABA therapist. Must also have a car and a California diverse license with a safe driving record.
