I’m a retired science teacher/outdoor educator with 30 years experience working with children. I retired in January and would like to continue to work/teach kids. Most recently, I was an Aquatic Educator for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and have been running an afterschool fishing club for kids in grades 3-8 and have been teaching families with children ages 5 & up how to fish. I have a BS in Biology and was Certified to teach Middle Grades and High School Science and I have a Master’s Degree in Education with the concentration in science. I taught in public schools and private schools and then started the education programs at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education for preK & up where I continued to work with outdoor education for kids until the flood in 2021. I have experience babysitting siblings, keeping them safe and engaged in activities, preparing snacks/meals, putting them down for nap/bed. I have done after school pick ups as well as driven kids to activities. I am good with pets. I have a dog and have kept one of my client’s dogs when they went out of town.
