My wife, Kristen, and I moved to Houston in 2021 and had our first child, Myles, on August 31st of last year (2023). Our families are still in West Virginia where we grew up so we do not have built-in babysitters. We love spending time with our little guy, but I would like to get some date nights in with my wife. Myles is a super happy baby and really only cries when he is hungry.
Myles is very easy to take care of. We have him on a fairly routine schedule each day, though we are not super strict. Initially, I would like the occasional date night, likely 2-3 nights a month. The time would be around 6:00-9:00. In that time, Myles would need to eat solids once and take a bottle before falling asleep for the night. We do have a chocolate lab mix that loves new people and loves Myles.
We own our townhome in the heights. The main living area is on the 2nd floor and Myles’ room is on the 3rd floor. We usually let him fall asleep on us in the recliner on the 2nd floor and carry him up to bed.
