My widower grandpa is a pretty friendly guy who is just in need of someone to come over and eat a meal with him, he can't cook anything more than warming up a can of chili in a pan on the stove or heating up a hot dog over a gas flame. We provide him with groceries, but he doesn't generally think to eat anything more than snacks (such as doritos, cookies, peanut m&ms).
IF you are able to cook him a meal (not a must, he is happy to eat a deli meat sandwich and chips) and somehow persuade him to take a shower there can definitely be additional incentive discussed. We go over to his home once or twice a week and take care of cleaning up/laundry/bills/making his meds but he needs more human interaction. He loves to chat or even just watch Shark Tank with someone. Just an hour or two would be amazing just for a little visit and would mean the world to him.
