Hi! My name is Molly Black and I am hoping to become a live-in nanny for a friendly family in the DC area this summer. I am a special education teacher in New York City and during the school year I teach independent living skills (such as using money, cooking, doing laundry, grocery shopping and vocational tasks) to middle schoolers with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities. My experience working with children goes back to high school when I spent winters as a ski instructor and summers as a daycare volunteer, and I have been growing as a caregiver ever since. Throughout college I worked at a childcare center looking after infants and toddlers. In this early childhood setting, I carried out responsibilities such as managing feeding schedules, changing and toileting, naptime and playtime, all while helping the children reach important milestones like crawling, walking, speaking and socializing Read more with peers. This experience inspired me to pursue my license in teaching, and while working on my certification I spent a year as a one-to-one aide to a student with a traumatic brain injury and then became a classroom teacher for third, fourth and fifth graders. I can be a compassionate, hard working and fun au pair or nanny this summer. I am CPR certified and can provide services like driving children to camps or appointments, academic support, light housekeeping and taking care of pets. I can provide excellent references and as a teacher I have been fingerprinted and background searched by the State of New York. Please feel free to contact me at mkblack0703@gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration!
