Bipolar Teen learning to manage own health

My son is 14 and recently diagnosed bipolar. Sometimes he struggles to hang with family routines and expectations and needs the option to opt out while allowing the rest of the family to stick to plans. We like to go rock climbing on weekends for the day and need a sitter for our son on the days he can't come with us.
He is very sweet and fun, no dangerous behaviors.
