I am looking for a part time job for this next year while I continue my education online to pursue a Masters in Speech Language Pathology. My mom was a preschool teacher so I’ve grown up helping her out with kids and tutoring. I am TESOL certified, and I’ve taught in various classrooms and been the director of a summer camp, so I have experience with all age groups! I am extremely organized, realiable, and responsible; I graduated from high school with a 4.3 GPA and from CU with a 3.9 GPA. I am a 54 year old retired and widowed Police Officer from the East Coast. I served for 23 years (8 of those in the SVU/Youth Division) and retired in Aug 2016 after I lost my husband. I now live in Parker. I have prior experience as a nanny for 4 years. My little charges were two infants, 2 toddlers, and one elementary school age girl. (All at the same time, still don’t know how I pulled that one off) I served in the military for 3 years then became a Police Officer in 1994. I’ve been a certified EMT since 1994 and even managed to help bring one child into the world. I am quite fond of caring for children from my previous experiences, whether it’s date night babysitting, mother’s helper if either parent is working from home and needs extra help keeping your child occupied without interruptions so you can focus on work. I’m a firm believer in love, and tons of cuddles with book time and laughter during play time. As Per individual parents wishes, I’d rather listen to laughing kids, using by age appropriate learning games, playing outside, getting dirty ( that’s what baths and washing machines are for) over using a TV for a babysitter per household day to day rules and norms. I am well versed in healthy meals for your child and can always prepare meals for the parents if they don’t have the time or energy at the end of the day. I’m fairly well versed with most cuisines depending on your family’s cravings, and dietary needs. If your kids are older and show an interest in cooking, I’d be delighted to teach them the basics and take a step back and see where their creativity takes them. It’s a fantastic way to boost confidence! I’m also available for travel in the event your child is young and the parents need some quiet time/childcare needs while traveling. (I have a US Passport in addition to an EU Passport as I have dual citizenship) I’m also available to keep a household running smoothly and handle every aspect of your child’s care needs for parents(s) who occasionally need to travel for work. I speak English, have a pretty laid back ( yet vigilant) demeanor, excellent communication skills. and a healthy sense of humor. I have a reliable and safe vehicle with an excellent driving record as well as have been an advanced BLS trained and extensively experienced Medical First Responder throughout my 24 year career in Law Enforcement. I have been working with children either in my home, church, daycare, or preschool for over 20 years now. Over the last 13 years, I have been taking care of infants through elementary age kiddos in my home. I have experience working with autistic children, as well as speech disorders. Prior to my daycare, I also taught preschool for 7 years. I worked in all of the classrooms ranging in age from infants to 4 and 5-year-olds.
